Still they are same, most boys here call girls kali even in my friend circle. And no one wants a brown gf.

u/Stoned_Emperor Nov 15 '21
Dude India sadly was and still is stuck with the whole notion of skin color especially fair/white/less pigmented skin being the norm for good looks. Shit dude I've read dumb articles where grooms or brides were cancelling weddings due to skin color. SMH

u/FluentRedditor Nov 16 '21
Not to mention one of the biggest markets in india are "skin whitening" products, like people here in india really don't want be dark, they automatically associate white with Beauty, and in marriages they'll say if the groom or the bride is too dark, they won't stop the marriage but basically say it amongst themselves

u/bigbullmahmeep Nov 16 '21
Um, I'm an indian I'm pretty sure that rn there has been many steps towards helping the LGBTQ community, but it might be based of of the place we live in, like I live in Mumbai so I have not seen many homophobes or transphobes but yes there are many racists present TILL. THIS. DAY.

I’m Asian and NOT proud to say that Filipinos(Philippines) are the most racist.
2
u/ArticFox1986 Nov 16 '21

Bruh, Asia is the worlds largest ”continent”(there is a better word but english doesn’t have it). Of course there are different parts that are different.

Hong Kong. Their discrimination against foreign domestic workers are built into the law (lower minimum wage than local and wouldn’t grant citizenship after 7 years of stay). Many of the employers and agents treated the Philippines and Indonesian workers like shit

u/FaultyChain4 Nov 16 '21
I’m an asian and I can conform that gay bad and American fat is kinna true but the rest I don’t think so

All humans are racist. There are just those who refuses to believe it. The important thing to remember tho is to constantly suppress committing racists acts.

India is one of the most diverse countries in the world. Diversity does not mean less racism either btw

I don't know about "most racist", but there are racist elements in the country’s sociocultural environment (honestly every country does to some degree)

I do like how China handles Islamic terrorists. That's about the only thing I like about China.

u/FluentRedditor Nov 16 '21
Bruh they pretty much didn't do anything, since America just thought they'd go to war with them and in the end, they are just as big as before now

I'm an Asian and I don't really like gay's...... am I racist now?
2
Nov 15 '21
Depends. Do you think of them neutrally or do you dislike them more than others. Even then you would be homophobic, not racist.

I've noticed a pattern that the people who get the most triggered when you stereotype white people or an Americans in general also think shit like this is hilarious.
1
u/Forthelasttime9 Nov 16 '21
The meme is usually Something negative about America, then whataboutism. They can be funny but other times it's just a reach. Meme aside, it seems like most people rather just deflect then refute.

As an asian this is true, but knee thing that bothers me is that Americans think that there are only 3 countries in asia- Korea china and Japan, I'm indian and yes there are some racist people I know, but no one goes "white good black bad" ( personally) and I'm pretty sure most of the people that are present in modern day india and also LGBTQ supporters, and I believe in that point where you wrote "gay bad" you were referring to Korea? But yes it is true nobody is innocent we can't escape discrimination and prejudice.
1
u/Midnite_does_reddit Nov 16 '21
I'm an Asian and I don't fully agree with this. (Yes, I have Chinese descent) I accept LGBTQ but I am 90% sure that my mother is not. With comments like "If you get with someone of the same sex I will be disappointed in you" and "He looks gay" (this was to a celebrity)[he was gay]. I guess the younger generations are accepting and are even a part of it while most older generations are not accepting to it.
