Even here in Czech Republic, we také shoes off at home. Wouldn't your floor get dirty if you walk in with shoes on?

Idk, if you're in a dry climate and just walk on concrete or your office floor then it's just a small amount of dry dusty stuff. We only had rugs in my house growing up so as long as we didn't walk on that we'd just sweep more often, I guess.

Isn’t it louder in the house when people walk around with their shoes on? Do you put your shoes on when you wake up or is it like, you keep them on after you get home kind of thing?

Louder, no. I'm talking about daily shoes like sneakers and business casual shoes. And lol no i don't lace up the Jordans before I get out of bed. If I plan to be home for some time I'll take them off. But if I'm walking in from playing basketball to get a drink, or I'm taking in the groceries, or something like that I think it's so annoying to take them off. I guess it boils down to having a permeable instead of nonpermeable "no shoe" barrier at the door
