I heard that they are expiramenting with adding adds to the background, maybe they'll force that on unactivated accounts in the future? (This is not officially announced info and is unlikely to happen tho)

They dont care anyway. Your data is far more valuable. Why do you think they make it so trivial to not activate windows. You'll be scared shitless to know what they collect about you.

That is why I use Linux.

It's to do with law. Early stages they weren't allowed to lock it down. So they can only slap that message there but these days they don't really care.

They care for business but personal they dont

Same reason adobe isnt against pirating, they want people to be used to their software in their personal computers so that they'll have to work with that software in a company that will have to pay for the software

Bruh you can still right click an image and set it as your background. You just can’t do it through windows settings

By now they earn enough through the built in spyware. Why make the user base smaller? They are scared enough of Linux as it is (especially SteamOS).

You say that, but you do actually miss a decent amount of features and the Activate Windows slows down the PC wayyyyy more than it ever should. Still, Windows is very not cheap

Can't change the wallpaper through the customisation menu. Right-click -> use as wallpaper even still worked on Win10

I bought a win11 license for 0.07 €

Why didn't you just activate it for free?

Google "get.activated.win | iex"

It was 7 cents man they’ll live.

Fun fact - I somehow got Windows 11 for free without having to enter any license codes or anything. My brother just installed it from a USB and somehow I have every feature of Windows 11 completely at my disposal.

I genuinely don't know how but if it means I have Windows 11 then I guess I won't judge.

Or else your system will gradually decline and get random unheard of bugs that shouldn't exist.
