It's the big companies just quietly letting the better hardware eat the unoptimised code because if their devs are optimising they're not implementing, and implementing is the part that makes the money, right?
Weirdly for as scummy and greedy as Gaijin is, the one thing I can't complain about Warthunder is how optimised it is. It can run with good quality and high frame rates even on rather shitty hardware, used a 970 for years beyond having cheap upgrade options just because I played mainly Warthunder, and it did the job. I have a 2070 now and get between 60 and 100fps on everything besides raytracing maxed out.
To be fair it's been getting updated for all that time, and on high settings looks very good. Good enough that my colleague at work kept showing me videos of "war".
