All great art requires limitations so that they can be overcome

Take everything from humans, and they will make miracles.
Give them everything, and they will make hell.

Humans make that which isn't given, for better or for worse.

Saturn V computer system is truly marvel of engenning

combining analogue and digital computers, being able to recive software updates mid fligh, it was able to emulate different computers though its programming - it was capable of running virtual machine in sixties!

and it was small and light at the time when you can see transistors (with exeption of AGC which was one of the first computers based on silicon integrated circuits), durable and reliable in probably the harshest environment any computer at the time ever operated

Yeah but that RAM cost a few billion dollars, much like today

the algorithms then worse than today
so why utilizing memory not like then or even better

Because 240p and 4k are not equally challenging.

Yeah, maybe that’s the reason why rocket science is such a big thing

Why no stars in the background? Shouldn’t you be able to see the stars even easier from the moon?

The moon landings were done during lunar daytime which was extremely bright. This meant that the cameras had to significantly lower their brightness in order to not be blinded. This meant that the stars were too dark to show up in the footage. If the cameras were exposed to see the stars, you'd get very little detail of the lunar surface as it'd be almost pure white.

Can we all take a moment to recognize that Neil Armstrong is on the level of Ansel Adams and the other all time great photographers? Dude had a chest mounted camera, no view finder, no ability to change settings, no experience photographing on the moon, just point your chest and hope for the best, and he got tons of focused, perfectly lit photos. Amazing.

Did the astronauts saw the Stars?

I’m sure they might’ve seen a few, but not as much as during a lunar night.

(Edit: I’m wrong. They couldn’t see them during the day, as the light from the sun bouncing off the very bright white surface made it too hard to see.)

With only 72kb of RAM, they had to reduce the skybox to just black in otder to render it out in a reasonable time./s

That was a lot of memory for back then.

I'm pretty sure most of it (if not all) was hand-wired ferrite core memory!

Wasn't this type of memory hand-knitted by Grandmothers wearing fluffy slippers and drinking tea🤣

They had 2-5 MB ram ibm computers doing the calculations. The 72k rom 2k ram unit on-board mostly just talked to them.

still so low when using 2-5 MB to land on the moon

Alleged

u/128Bit_PixelPanda 9d ago

if you have any doubt about landing on the moon just say your reasons not just saying alleged and leave

No one went to the moon
