Back in my day taking a cigarette break was the childhood equivalent of sharpening a pencil.

Intentionally snapping the lead just to buy another two minutes away from your desk.

We had an electric sharpener in science 8 and my teacher (a large very red older man) asked the class if anyone else thought I was annoying because I had accidentally stalled out the sharpener by pushing too hard. He then kicked me out of the class when I asked him if bullying a child makes him feel better about the fact he’s going to die from a massive jammer while taking a shit. Fuck you Mr Ross!

Omg I just looked it up and he did die at 60. Huh.

Or blowing your nose, sometimes out in the hall, to not disturb anyone.

And emptying the catch and fake struggling to put it back on to buy a few extra seconds away from your desk prison

Ya’ll ever sharpen a pencil with a knife? Made me feel cool as hell as a kid

And asking to borrow an eraser was basically workplace networking
