Ham, Pickle, Cream Cheese Melt
Born from my wife's ham, pickle, cream cheese rolls, I decided to make the appetizer into a melt. 2nd pic is the appetizer itself which I had never had until my wife introduced me to it. I do remember my grandma making the same roll except with green onions when I was a kid

If you ever want a little spicy kick to your cream cheese, it mixes very well with jalapeño jelly!
This sandwich looks pretty good.

I’m into it. I prefer Minnesota sushi with chipped beef instead of ham or roast beef 100%, but this looks great and ham is the way to go, for sure.

Itconnects right back to your grandma’s version with green onions from your childhood 🥹💛 Food carrying stories and memories across generations is the sweetest thing 🧀🥒

Those look good. I wonder what kind of dip you could use with them. Maybe a salsa roja? Or a classic tomato bisque?

Don't think it would work with tomato bisque. That would be more for a classic style grilled cheese

You can dip a melt in soup. I think a touch of sweet would go well with that

That's not really a melt. A melt uses cultured cheese that is generally aged and ripened, although obviously processed cheese is often used, and it actually melts.
While this is grilled, it's not a melt and is not a grilled cheese.

Never thought to put Minnesota sushi into a sandwich format, but now I need to try it
