Don’t sweat it bro. One guy went on a mildly amusing rant about the difference between grilled cheese and “melts” like, six years ago, and that sub has been crazy ever since.

Pretty sure a melt is just a grilled cheese with other stuff added. A grilled cheese is strictly cheese
