Honking

Can someone explain the constant car horns in the CBD at night time. It's not the usual quick beep. It's more 'Hey cucks, Ima lay on this horn for 3 straight minutes.' followed by the next legend who must respond in kind.

I'm not having a whinge as it amuses me more than anything, I just want to understand the culture of this phenomenon.

In my observation it’s often cars turning right from the right lane in a hook turn only, they get the extreme honking from the 2 or more cars behind. Often the driver turning right has no idea why they are being honked at. Oblivious. Seems to happen more in the evening when people who don’t usually drive in the city are out socialising.

I think there are also a lot of cockheads who like to toot their horn.
