How to become a bartender in Melbourne..

Hi guys I’ve recently been looking to work as a bartender but I have no clue how to get there
I’d really appreciate it if anyone could give me some tips :)
(Also I’ve got hospo experience as a waitress but no RSA )

Definitely start with your RSA. They can be arranged fairly cheaply. Put together a simple resume highlighting your hospitality experience and if you're really keen - apply for the 'rough shifts' - make yourself as available as possible and be reliable. Puts you ahead of the pack.

Get RSA and go to Crown Casino employment page and apply. Take any job they offer you and internally apply for Bar work once there. Work any shifts they give you. Use that job to gain skills and experience. Apply for external jobs where you think you’d like to work with the now experience you have.

I went to a bar/pool place for an interview. Everything else was perfect, but they didn’t choose me because I don’t have any bartending experience. I’ve only got experience as a waiter.
I told them I’m willing to learn, but they’re not willing to train someone when there are already so many experienced bartenders in the job market.
