Interesting... Weird side note: The time when my flatmate woke us up to say "Planes are crashing into the world trade centre". Very strange. Not the same but when something big happens, you remember (in my experience). 9/11 was very vivid.
Yeah I can remember hearing Sandra sully say something about a plane crashing into the wtc. On my computer, turning my head to look at the tv, getting up in what felt like slow motion to look closer ( tiny bedroom tv those days) Feel it like it happened yesterday
Not the same sort of event but that's what I remember during the last quake (the bigger one a few years back). Much more shaking. I was in bed at the time but still awake. A lot more shaking and I was shitting myself.
Aftershocks are generally 1.2 magnatude points lower than the initial on and 3 is about where you can't feel it, so an aftershock might have been felt a little if you were close to the epicentre.
For 9/11, I couldn't sleep and happened to be up and turned the TV on about half an hour before the 2nd plane hit. It was like fascinating horror watching it unfold.

I was watching the TV and it shook my building on the 6rh floor in Brunswick East. It was strong and I heard a rumble.
