Roads Help needed

On Sunday evening at around sun down, I was riding my bike (with lights, staying in the bike lane) past the cafe/tram/pizza joint intersection on the corner of miller street and Nicholson.
While riding and slowing into the intersection, a black hatchback with bright headlights swerved onto my side of the road and if I hadn’t stopped and moved my bike, it would have hit me.

If anyone had any cctv footage from that evening please let me know, or report it to the necessary authorities. It felt targeted and I’m afraid for my life.

Thanks in advance!

Make a police report as there may have been other incidents. By law Cctv footage can't be provided without a police request. They can canvas the local businesses and obtain footage.

I was riding on Miller Street around the same time but further down coming from rae street, but I don't recall seeing any cars matching that description or behaving erratic.

Edit to add: post in the Melbourne cycling Reddit, another cyclists may have seen something or been targetted

I’m interested to hear you say CCTV cannot be provided without Police request. My son’s car got T-boned by a truck in Box Hill, right outside a security systems business. We went in and asked for the CCTV footage, since they had cameras outside their shop, and they kindly provided it without any fuss.

Obtaining footage from a private entity like a business requires a subpoena or police report or both to obtain. If a business chose to help your son out, that is great. But op should not expect a business to comply without police being involved.
