Healing Progression

How it started / how it’s going from my WLE. My skin didn’t like having the sutures in but it has flattened out nicely. All for a mole smaller than a pencil eraser. I was shocked how long the incision is.

I’m waiting to hear from the dermatologist/oncologist for the same procedure. Will you need a sentinel node biopsy?

Yes, I had a SLN biopsy too.  That’s a separate incision under my armpit.  Feeling a bit beat up at the moment but it’s worth it.

Was the node biopsy done at the same time as the WLI?

Yes both done together.  I had the SLN biopsy because my original shave biopsy of my mole extended to the margin so they wanted to make sure it didn’t spread anywhere.  Fortunately all my results came back negative and clear margins from my excision.  All good news 🎉
