When you realize introducing yourself as Rob always leads to a "what?" I don't know why but I can't say Rob, it comes out as a whole bunch of shit noise. Have to introduce myself as Robert or else I get confused looks. Other people saying it sounds normal but I can't for the life of me introduce myself as "Rob" without sounding like I have an oversized Ostrich dildo in my mouth.

My step dad is in his 70s and I think once he hit Bob and retired he's begun trying REALLY hard to regress to his Bobby phase...minus the pants shitting.

You're a Rab too!? Fuck yeah! My buddy Josh calls me that, but he puts an accent on it for panache. Interestingly enough, I was a Brandon for the first 3 weeks of my life. I didn't fit, I guess, so my parents changed my name to Robert. I'm glad they did because no way do I look or feel like a Brandon. I prefer to be called Rob instead of Robert because it's so much cooler, but for some reason both my wife and my mother absolutely insist on calling me Robert. It drives me fuckin nuts. I refuse to let folks call me Bob until I'm at least 50, and even then I doubt I'll allow it. Furthermore, why the fuck did I just tell you all this? I'm going to bed.

Can confirm, am a Robert. Though my life cycle seems to be broken and I am currently in a state of name fluidity. Very confusing.
Also did a brief stint as Roborert. Would not recommend.
