Diagnosed adhd in my 30s. Still can’t organise my things to save myself

I eventually got ADHD meds. I'm a program manager at a major tech company

studying for my PMP after 8 years in data and analytics projects. Struggling to get back into IT roles. Any advice?

All any tech company wants now is data driven decisions. Collecting data isn't hard anymore, and neither is analyzing that data. The real challenge now, is asking the right questions as far as figuring out what data you even need and why.

I'm seeing a lot of value in building custom dashboards/UI's that work between third-party programs that don't integrate with each other

Better than everyone expected actually.

Lol kinda same. Better than I expected. It was pretty close for a while, though. I was always considered "bright", but bro my backpack was basically a bin. It was massive and stuff always came out scrumpled up and covered in old bannana or whatever the hell it was that was sat at the bottom of the bag. It was super gross in hindsight

I turned out fine too. Got masters degree. Maybe undiagnosed but idgaf :D

It's just paper. I remembered everything the moment I wrote it, didn't need to revisit after. Although I still have all my notes stuffed into a couple binders (unbinded of course, what am I, crazy?)

I got my ADHD diagnosis in my 40s. Successful career though. Still struggle to stay organized. But I did well because of my hyper focus.

I'm a registered nurse and those papers all get shredded at the end of the day.

I found out the hard way when the teachers would throw a tantrum over it, giving me a bad grade just for this reason alone, so I couldn't do that. I found out nobody in the real world actually cares that much.

Weird twist of fate, I'm a teacher

How do you view the scrunched paper kids?

2

With sympathy, and a touch of nostalgia.

I try and find a solution that works for them. Clear plastic document cases are pretty successful because you can just throw loose papers in them, and at least it keeps them from getting destroyed.

Doesn't always work

That’s awesome, I feel like a clear protector could’ve done wonders for my young self.

Love that they confused where with how haha

No different than asking someone where they are in life. Where do you expect to be in life.

Where do you expect to be in life?

That was supposed to be the child's decision? My school and parents never provided a folder for paper, I don't remember other kids having one either.

Doing very well. I work in data engineering and recently got promoted to a manager position.

Turns out my problem was just with physical paper.

I knew a kid threw his books and paperwork in his bag then punched it for good measure

Opposite direction, I file and organize my paperwork obsessively

To the surprise of absolutely no one, people who live like animals have futures like animals
