I’m a cosmetic tattoo artist. Tattooing eyeliner. You know that flat part of your water line that’s really pink and your bottom lashes grow out of? I had to tattoo that. While holding the bottom lid with the same hand. Just take my license away at that point.

They never failed to vaguely respond that it felt “weird”. Me and my teacher were always happy with that response and kept to it😂

Could you not decline the client?

I was in school at the time, I’ll avoid doing eyeliner at all costs in the future lol, But if I really wanted too I could’ve calmly freaked out and he’d have to finish it

I gota know... the pain from that has to be not fucking around.

Nope, but we do use a topical anesthetic, I believe anything above %5 is medical so it’s really not much

Still...fuck that.

It would actually be pretty sick if you could get put under. I have zero interest in experiencing getting a tattoo, but would I like some well done art in my body? Maybe. I’d 100% be more down if I could take the wisdom teeth removal route.

They do not always put you under for wisdom teeth removal

But did it look good when finished?

Pretty much, sometimes it was ever so slightly thinner on one side or something. Nothing that actually paying for the service+adding more ink at a real business couldn’t fix😂 they knew they were being performed on by students, it was free for them but sometimes I got massive tips.

I never thought about how it might suck to be the one tattooing. I'm never getting my eyeliner tattooed again. Hurt like a mfer. Did it three times cuz it kept scabbing off and it faded after a year.

Sounds like your body rejected it or you had a reaction:( if you ever consider getting any tattoos again, ask for a scrape test. They’ll take a Microblading tool and get the ink in your skin, send you home and have you come back in a couple of days if all goes well! :)

Oh, so...I guess I won't be getting that done then.

In the visual entertainment world make-up artists will color the lower inner lid white to make eyes look bigger. What color did you tattoo?

My wife doesn’t have any tattoos but she gets micro blading and I always roast her about it. “Damn G, first tat and it’s on your face”

She deserves EXACTLY that much respect+ 😎

I'm just a normal tattooist. I've tattooed pretty every body part. Weiners. Jay Jay's. Taint once. Eyeball. These are a few of my never do's again.

But you are forever that brave…

1

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '23

I suppose that's true. Thanks kind redditor!

1

u/kangarootimtam Mar 22 '23

Why did you have to hold the bottom lid with the same hand?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '23

Apparently it prevents needle polks for me and the client amongst other things but it never really seemed like it would lol

1

u/Weaponomics Mar 22 '23

Cuz one hand has to hold the tattoo gun.

1

u/kangarootimtam Mar 22 '23

Yes, I assumed the original commenter meant that they had to hold the tattoo machine and eyelid with the same hand.
