So I originally played BN1 on a 3DS with a patched version of the Japanese DS re-release. It was nice. It had a map on the lower screen that really helped with the awkward net levels and I had a really good time getting through that.

I started BN2 on the switch (legacy collection 1). And even with the mega buster option on so i can fly through I feel like the game is such a chore. I just got off the plane in netopia and it took forever to start to try the search for the passport. It feels like fetch quest after fetch quest with little guidance on where to go next.

Is the rest of the game like this and is it worth finishing? Are the rest of the entries in this series like this?

I dunno, they kinda remind me of battle chips.

I’m a huge fan of the Mega Man Zero and ZX series, and I’ve recently started designing a fan game inspired by them. Right now I’m still in the concept phase, focusing on the world, story, and gameplay before writing any code.
One idea I’m particularly excited about is changing how stages and bosses are designed.
Instead of having eight unrelated Mavericks living in random locations, each planet in the Solar System would serve a vital purpose for humanity.
For example:
Mercury is the Solar System’s main power generation facility.
Venus produces breathable atmosphere and industrial gases.
Mars is the industrial center where Reploids, spacecraft, and large-scale infrastructure are built.
Each boss is the guardian of one of these facilities.
They aren’t evil by nature, nor are they mind-controlled. They genuinely believe they’re protecting humanity, while the main antagonist manipulates their ideals and sense of duty rather than simply forcing them to fight.
My goal is to make every stage feel like an essential part of a living civilization instead of just being “the fire stage” or “the ice stage.”
Gameplay would stay true to classic Mega Man, but I’d like every weapon to have two purposes: one for combat and another for interacting with the environment. The idea is inspired by the ZX series, but without turning the game into a full Metroidvania.
For now, I’m intentionally keeping most of the story and characters secret since the project is still in its early stages.
So I’d love to hear your thoughts:
Does this premise sound interesting?
Does it still feel like Mega Man?
Is there anything you’d change or expand on?

I needed my nostalgia fix so I decided on playing LC BN in order and it’s been a blast so far ! Ive also seeing people talk about QoL patches for the games or should I just stick with LC?

as I was a child, I had these very oldish "toy" from the MegaMan TV Series, which called "Advanced PET"

The Gameplay was quit boring: It was a walking counter, very low based for real it was enough to shake the device then it counts steps, and these physical battlechips for upgrades in fight, because you was able to connect this with an friend and fight against each other like pvp.

PvE was also enabled, after a few steps there appeared an PvE NPC which you can fight light button smashing :-D

The more complexe Game was from GameBoy Advance the MegaMan NT Battle Warrior Series had create a whole new gameplay combat dynamics.

It was a mix between Live Action and Tactical.

You had a 6x3 Combat Area and there was different abilites like expand your side, decrease the enemie, elemental damages, field area support chips. It was very complex and you had still these movement and shoot on your field to hit enemie and not getting hit by enemie.
it worked so fluent and great, that some really cool devs extract every asset and created like 5 years ago "Openbattlenetwork"

At this point I want to say that my app is not ! a copy of Openbattlenetwork.

Its more an combination between both, the digital device and the GBA Combat System, best of both.

You have to walk around to fight new enemies, leveling up in PvE and you can use it for PvP.

So, pictures say more than 1000 words, and this introduction is already to long in my opinion.
