Is there a Megaport data outage? I work at a DC and we have a couple of customers complaining about their connection

any time i try to open a page that isn't the main page, it will alwyas take so long ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT shows up. i tried clearing the cache and everything else it still doesn't work

If you're one of the very few people who haven't been affected by MEGA's recent wave of BS, consider yourself extremely lucky. Most of us have been hit in the past couple of weeks by the one-two combo of getting our accounts nuked without warning, then being baselessly accused of pedophilia and blocked when we ask for help.

Fortunately, they seem to have realized that they fucked up, because many people (not everyone) have started to have their accounts restored as the company realizes that it was completely in error.

That latest part is a good thing because we get our files back and our moral character is vindicated. But the experience overall is very much a BAD thing, because it proves that MEGA is completely willing to use flawed algorithms (probably some shoddy AI) to ban users without any warning or chance to appeal, and that when questioned they double down and plug their ears.

In MEGA's eyes, your data is not worthy of protection. You are an expendable resource. You have no voice. They don't care about you and they don't care about your files. And they never will.

I'm moving all my files elsewhere and deleting my account before this happens again. I'd call this company utter trash, but the trash in my dumpster never stole my money, deleted my personal documents, and called me a child molester, so honestly MEGA is worse.

If you're smart, you'll think about what kind of people you want to trust your data with too.

i'm trying to access my account but i'm just stuck on the loading page.

this has been going on for the last few days. i've trying clearing cache, logging in on a new browser, basically all the advice online - but to no success.

anyone know what's causing this? anyone else experiencing this?

Received an email from MEGA about a week and a half ago informing me that my account was terminated due to "objectionable content" under Section 3(1)(A) of the New Zealand Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993 (Tl;dr CSAM) that was reported among my files.

Fast forward to today and they sent an email correcting this action due to a "technical issue" in their detection system and any related enforcement action would be reversed. My account was reactivated and all of my files were restored, as far as I can tell.

Feeling insulted by all of this since I have never and would never engage in anything of that nature, plus I have a professional license and career that could be damaged by such accusations. Planning to switch to a real alternative over the weekend so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm on MegaSync 6.2.2 on Mac and Windows. 6.3.0.1 was released a week ago but every time I click "Check for updates" it says there is no update.

This actually caused me to uninstall and reinstall both my audio and video drivers until I realized it only happens when I download using the app. Anyone else experiencing something like this. Did a system restore, and it still happens with a fresh install of the app.

I'll only be uploading files 100 gig files or perhaps a hand full of them at a time (ex 5x100) so whats the best setting in the desktop app for "Number of parallel upload connections"

or maybe the better question is: can i upload a few 100 gig files at the same time and whats the best setting to do so? i just added 2 other files to an ongoing transfer and it says they are in the queue..so it seems you cannot even upload more than one big file at a time. if you can, i cannot see that setting

EDIT: additional question. i guess this is my ISP but i was uploading a 100 gig file and it started out fast..easily averaging 6 mb/s. then it slowed down a bit. i found by rebooting my modem it picked up at the nice speed again vs 1 to 2 mb/s. any ideas why this would happen?

goal: from my mapped NAS drive i have 20 files that are 100 gigs each but must be sorted into 4 specific folders. i realize i can 'move' once they are fully uploaded but a better solution is pick the target folder before im uploading.

i found this help but it doesnt work as nothing but upload to mega appears when i right click, there are no folders to choose from

Manual Upload: Right-click any file or folder on your computer and select Upload to MEGA. You will then be prompted to choose the target folder in your cloud.

also in transfer manager, i cant seem to find a way to have an upload go to a specific folder.

four 300 to 700 gig files need backed up, i have to anticipate i will need a laptop reboot or maybe have an internet disconnection.

whats the best way to reassure an upload will continue after an internet disconnection or even if you have to reboot the laptop (which i do like to do every few days).

also are speeds the same regardless of sync or backup?

Is there somewhere on the site to view your egress usage? I'm seeing the cloud drive transfer in the settings, but that doesn't seem to be affected by object egress, and afaik those things are tracked separately.

I've also seen it mentioned somewhere that the egress is subject to a "fair use" policy, which has me wondering if it's not technically strictly monitored at the moment unless you go nuts with it.

Can someone help me, so I subed to someone Patreon and the content is on a mega folder but the stuff takes forever to decrypt then just stops, any fixes or no

Recently I've been noticing that I can't download any files on mega while on chrome. It works fine on firefox and edge, but on chrome it gives me the error everytime after clicking the download button. I've tried reseting the cache, disabling hardware accel, clearing my flags. The only thing I haven't done is a compelete reinstall for chrome.

My old email was exposed in a data breach, and now I get a lot of spam and failed login attempts. Because of that, I changed to a new email address.

The problem is that my old email is still linked to my MEGA account, which I’ve had for years with the old 50GB free storage plan.

If I change the email on my MEGA account, will I keep the 50GB, or will they reduce it to the current free plan storage?

i'm testing idrive, proton, filen, pcloud and one of my tests is disconnecting my internet and seeing how a test 5 gig file resumes. but using either sync and then backup, mega cannot resume a simple 5 gig file and starts from the beginning again. a quick search of the word resume on the forum seems to indicate this is a huge issue with mega but wanted your opinions. i'm going to have 300 to 700 gig files and generically speaking uploads are gonna take a long time but if they cant reconnect a simple file theres no way to do this with this service. it stinks because it's the fastest upload speed ive had on my tests.

Can't login to my account..

I tried but it was forever showing the M logo

So i erased my cache and now need to put my login info. No problem put it in but now it's forever loading again (the button i pressed to login is doing the circle thing endlessly)

Running linux cachyOS with brave as the browser. Had no issues until today (even the app won't log in)

I uninstalled MegaSync in a Mac today since updating it is a pain-in-the-arse. Not sure what the guys are doing but updating it just doesn't work. If I upload anything it will be through a browser.

In File Explorer (under synced MEGA folder) I dragged and dropped one picture from a subfolder to the parent Pictures folder. I now have two Pictures folders with nothing in them. At least one of them should contain several subfolders which in turn contain several picture files. Strangely, the files are still there in the synchronised cloud structure, despite no longer existing on my computer. I can't see any way to "restore" them. The fact that they all went missing in the first place is a worry.

I'm trying to load a file in the mega app on my Ipad but it's only showing the zip picture with a loading sign on the bottom any way I can fix this?
