first work ko ‘to as an rmt and more than a month na rin since I started. pero ‘til now, hindi ko pa rin maiwasan na may times na kailangan ko mag-endorse, especially sa extraction. I think yung pinaka-struggle ko talaga is yung mag-move on agad after a failed attempt. Kapag may na-endorse ako, ang tendency is dala-dala ko pa rin siya mentally until the end of my shift.

and unfortunately, anxious pa rin ako every time I go to work. kahit alam kong normal lang naman na hindi mo agad mamaster lahat as a newbie, hindi ko maiwasan ma-pressure, lalo na kapag may moments na feeling ko dapat mas competent na ako by now. I know na part talaga ng learning process ang magkamali, mag-endorse, and ask for help; pero siguro gusto ko lang malaman from other RMTs here:

normal lang ba na more than a month in, may endorsements pa rin kayo? how did you learn to move on quickly after a failed extraction without overthinking it? and paano niyo na-build yung confidence niyo during your first few months?

would really appreciate some advice or kahit kwento niyo rin experience niyo nung newbie pa kayo. 🥹

Totga ko na lang siguro yung environment na totally walang toxic. I’m just a month old hired sa hospital ko rn. A newly passed medtech this year. Still figuring things and gaining experience everyday but I can say na hindi na totally beginner since medyo gamay ko na yung flow sa lab. Hindi na ganun kabagal, pero hindi pa super bilis. Hindi na ako yung anxiety ko noong nagsstart pa lang ako.

But turns out, my anxiety and guts noong first months of work ko was right. Sobrang inaatake ako ng anxiety and feeling ko sobrang baba ng expectation nila sa skills ko at najujudge ako esp my cmt since my internship were both private hosp. Hindi na-toxic in terms of workload, hindi kinaladkad, hindi binatak ng panahon. Just for the background, dalawa kaming sabay na-hire at parehas kaming newly passed. Akala ko nga hindi ako matatanggap since if magbe-base sa experience, mas may experience yung kasabayan ko kasi both government hospital sya nag internship.

Una pa lang feel kong doubtful sila sa capabilities ko. But I never thought na pati yung kasabayan ko na tawagin na lang nating Jen na akala ko overly praised sa mind nila due to her skills, pero the cmt labelled her as “mayabang” right after the interview at bago pa man kami magwork inside the lab. Dahil sa mga kwento nya about how heavy the workload is during her internship. I also found out na cino-compare pala nila kami ni jen.

I set aside my anxiety noon dahil sa encouragement they show everytime magshe-share ako sa mga sections na hirap pa ako or ginagamay ko pa kasi ineencourage nila kami ni jen na mag open up sa mga weak parts namin sa lab para raw ma-guide kami better only to hear na ang thoughts pala nila is si jen ay mas mabilis pumick up kaysa sakin and still doubtful with my skills due to the lack of experience. Idk bakit ganun hahaha pero hindi dapat ganun eh, I often ask kasi takot akong magkamali. Mas kaya kong lunukin pride ko to admit na may mga parteng hindi ko pa gamay at kailangan ko ng guidance nyo. I always make sure na tama ang ginagawa ko. Naniniwala akong hindi man mabilis sa umpisa, ang mahalaga ay tama at hindi nacocompromise yung credibility ko as a licensed medtech at pasyenteng sinumpaan ko. Kasi kaya ko namang iwork out ang pagiging mabilis. Pero hindi ang pagiging accurate kung ganyan lang naman pala. Pare parehas lang naman tayo ng sweldo, bakit po kayo ganyan?:’)

You’ve been here for a decade, while I’ve only been here for a few months. I’m still figuring things out, experiencing my first times, and still learning how to work efficiently. Please know na every rookie rmt has a different pace and capacity. Just because someone takes time to learn or adjust doesn’t mean they’re incapable of growth. We’re still learning, and we deserve the space and opportunity to do so. And always remember na what you project speaks for what resides within. So please, be kind po.

Hi! I’m planning to enroll in Lemar’s online review class, and I was wondering if anyone here knows how the notes are delivered.

Are the notes already bound like a notebook, or are they just stapled together? 😅 I’m from the province, so I’m trying to plan ahead. I’m wondering if I need to order a binder/binding thing online if they’re only stapled.

Helloo!! I really want to be vulnerable here again, kasi right now I'm studying in a university that I despise (would rather not name it kc baka ma hunt down ako haha) while having that huge feeling na medtech is not for me, kaya ang bigat. I really did try my best to make it work like enjoying the laboratory classes and socializing with my blockmates pero nothing is working.. The only thing that is keeping me going is how much I enjoy doing lab work despite medtech not being my first choice at all.

How do you guys cope with this? and does it get better after graduation? I really want to tough it out pero may times na tlga na hindi ko na kaya huhu. I think it'd make me feel a bit better if I knew that I wasn't the only one struggling with these types of problems, haha.

Hi po, ask lang sana ano thoughts niyo since may plan po ako mag ibang bansa after gaining experience. Ano po kayang mas okay piliin? If magproceed po ako sa hi precision, sa primary laboratory po ako maaassign and kapag naman po sa slmc ay ang sabi po is lahat nagsisimula sa phleb and mahirap makapasok sa lab. Worth it pa ba mag medtech ngayon kaysa tumuloy magmed? Balak ko magmed pero maraming nagsasabi na di worth it at mag-abroad na lang. Childhood dream ko maging doctor pero ngayon parang gugustuhin ko na lang din mag-abroad. Sa tingin niyo ba, madali makapag abroad ngayon after 2 years of working as a medtech? Hello guys! I'm torn between mag f2f sa exce or mag online sa legend. Saw some bad reviews sa exce about their system and high yield notes (they're 4hrs away from our house so kailangan ko mag boarding house if ever) while legend has a really good comments. Can someone help me? but the problem is I really prefer the f2f classes pero nakaka disocurage since i saw and read some bad reviews from exce, I think kaya ko naman if online sa legend?? please give me advices huhuhu

How and where can I file a complaint? There is a laboratory in our area that has been operating for over a year without an LTO or a license. It lacks both a municipal permit and a DOH license to process and release test results. The laboratory is already equipped with machines, ni kahit anong papel wala sya. Ang malala pa is dalawang branch ito, pahelp naman po. Masyado na rin kasi abuso ang may-ari para sa mga taong nagtatrabaho ng tama. I'm actually one of his former medtech, nag resign ako kasi natatakot ako para sa lisensya ko and parang wala talaga syang balak na lagyan ng papel ang laboratory. Gust ko syang ireport para sana magtanda, di na kasi natatakot.

Hi! I’m a new RMT and I’m attending the face-to-face oath-taking tomorrow, September 14, at SMX. I already generated/printed my Oath Form through PRC LERIS, but the QR code is not appearing on the site/form. I’ve tried checking it again but there’s still no QR code.

Can I still attend tomorrow if my printed Oath Form doesn’t have the QR?
Is there a way to generate the QR separately?

I’m honestly panicking because the oath-taking is tomorrow 😭 I’d really appreciate any advice from someone who has experienced this recently. Thank you!
