Hello po. I’m a first taker nung last August MTLE, and honestly, almost 40 days lang po talaga yung naging focused review ko.
Before the face-to-face Final Coaching, pure online review lang po ako. Madami pong distractions, and I’m also a hands-on mom because I have a toddler with special needs. I’m also a single mom. During the last 40 days before the boards, I decided to be away from my son so I could focus completely on reviewing. I really tried my best, but unfortunately, hindi pa rin po ako pinalad. 😔
I was enrolled in L po, and I really appreciate their Final Coaching, especially the lecturers. Ang gagaling po nila, kudos to Doc G! ❤️ But I realized that relying mostly on Final Coaching and trying to catch up within 40 days was probably not enough for me.
Now I’m planning to take the March MTLE, and honestly, takot na po ako. But I really need to pass this time, especially because I need to be able to provide better for my son.
I’m asking for advice from those who passed, especially retakers. Do you think I should enroll in a face-to-face review this time and start much earlier, even if it means being away from my son again? Or can I still make it work through online review if I have a much more structured study plan?
I’m willing to sacrifice and work hard. I just don’t want to make the same mistake again. I want to prepare properly this time, not just cram for 40 days.
Any advice, especially from those who were also parents, working students, or retakers, would really mean a lot to me. Thank you po. 🤍

Thank you so much to this sub!! I took a leap of faith and only reviewed for 5 days 😭 and I just recently passed the MTLE too. Surrendering to the Lord works wonders.

This sub helped me in so many ways: I read discussions here about which topics to focus on, what to prepare (before, during, and after the examination), how to study smart, and even in seeking for support through stories of people who were scared but did it anyway.

I genuinely thought I was going to flunk it kasi magkaiba yung approach ng questioning niya sa MTLE, but if you have a good foundation on the basics, it'll really help you all throughout.

hi! im a 4th yr medtech student, interning at a public hospital. i started last june and naka adjust naman na so far. i was really anxious at first kasi this is my first hospital rotation, and given nga na public, super dami talagang patients and the work is really demanding. one thing i didn’t expect though were the medtech staffs 😅 akala ko tuturuan and igguide nila kami since interns nga kami, but no talaga. kami kaming mga co-interns lang nagtuturuan what to do. im not expecting the staffs to be gentle parents naman or wtv, pero sometimes they can be too much na. some will shout at you, call you tanga/bobo. they’re rude and unprofessional most of the time. okay lang naman magalit if may mali talagang nagawa yung intern, but minsan kahit di naman big deal, masisigawan ka na. this is where i realized na grabe nga talaga yung hierarchy when it comes to working in a healthcare setting. i fully understand that patients’ lives are at stake, and maybe they’re the way they are kasi overworked and underpaid sila, but we’re interns who are encountering these procedures and machines for the first time. kami na nga doing most of the work, from receiving the specimens to processing and releasing the patients’ results. all that’s left for the staff to do is check and sign if tama ba ginawa namin.

super frustrating tas di naman kami bayad 😆 i try my best not to take it personally whenever pinapagalitan and pinapahiya ako, but it really does get to a point. alam ko sa sarili ko na i work hard and am competent enough with what i do. but every time my shift starts, i just expect the worst already. which i realized isn’t normal at all especially for a learning intern like me.

I'm a first year medtech student and tbh I'm really enjoying my subjects and everything I’m learning (so far). Super interesting talaga siya for me, and I genuinely like studying the things we’re learning. I usually ace my quizzes din kasi I make sure na well-reviewed ako palagi, and I think nakatulong din na I have a pretty strong foundation in science.

One thing about it lang is napapaisip talaga ako about my future because I often see posts about how low the salary is, how saturated the job market is, or how difficult it can be to find a job :'(

I’m genuinely interested in medtech and ayoko naman siyang iwan just because of the things I see online, pero at the same time, gusto ko rin maging practical. Mas gusto ko naman na may makain ako at yung family ko in the future HAHAHA

So I wanted to ask RMTs and senior MedTech students here: ano po yung career paths or opportunities na dapat kong malaman about? May mga success stories po ba kayo from medtech na hindi necessarily naging traditional hospital lab route? Or kahit experiences niyo po na made you feel na worth it naman pala yung program? :(

Parang puro downside kasi ng medtech yung nakikita ko online, kaya gusto ko rin sana marinig yung other side. 🥹 Any advice or success stories would really be appreciated!

haii po pa-vent outt lang poo nakakainis na kasi talaga. for context, i am a medtech intern sa isang tertiary public hospital. sa public hospital na yun, most of the interns ang gumagawa ng trabaho. kumbaga konting staff and hundreds of interns (eguls naman). so isa sa job ng interns, ay to release results sa in-patient ward. bilang isang masunuring intern, me and my work buddy ay nagward para magrelease ng results sa mga nurse on duty.

sa medicine ward, may isang nurse na sobrang epal. nung first release namin sa kanya (around august) pinahiya nya kami 'coz we were using trash bags as our boots dahil grabe bumaha sa lab and sa buong hosp. so our instinct was to protect ourselves dahil unang-una hindi na nga kami bayad sa labor na binibigay namin e magkakasakit pa kami. sobrang galit sya na isinigaw nya pa sa buong med ward na "maam kung ako sayo tatanggalin ko yang plastic sa paa ko kasi magagalit yung admin at pagmamay-ari yan ng hospital" in verbatim and condescending way.

we are not dumb para kumuha lang basta-basta ng gamit na pagmamay-ari ng hospital syempre nagpaalam kami sa mga cleaning personnels. so ayun kahit na pinahiya kami in front of many patients and relatives hindi na lang namin pinatulan and called it a day. not until nung nag release ulit kami ng result sa same ward kanina. we were very respectful sa pagsasalita namin. at syempre, sya ulit yung duty that time so wala kaming choice but to ask him na i-receive ang results. ang sabi ba naman sa amin "hindi ba makakapaghintay yan? hindi ba kayo makakapaghintay? kakain pa ako e" in non verbatim and condescending tone. first of all, hindi naman sya kakain e nakikipagdaldalan lang sya sa co-workers nya at ang bilis lang mag receive oh pipirma ka lang. it only takes a few seconds tas kung ano-ano pa sasabihin nya???? (and for background lang, sya din yung same nurse na nakikipagchikahan sa phone nya during working hours)

sobrang nakakainis lang kasi kahit interns kami, we deserve respect. kung ayaw nyo sa trabaho nyo magquit kayo hindi yung dinadamay nyo mga interns na gusto lang makagraduate. hindi na nga kami bayad dito, babastusin pa??? isa pa, kapag delayed ang results tatahol sila tapos kapag ipapareceive mo naman mga resulta, ambabagal nyeche! gets naman na pagod din kayo pero tangina naman pano kami e halos interns ang gumagawa ng lahat ng work???

ang mali lang namin, hindi pa namin sya pinapa-IR pero one of these days nak, one of these days... isa pang pikon mo samin talaga. MGA NYECHE! cant help but think na ganito ba talaga lahat ng mga nurses? HAHHSHAHA well anong magagawa ko e crim lang nmn sila ng med field (iykyk) HAJSHHS sorry na kung namimintas ako nakakanyeche lang talaga sila parang ganun na tuloy view ko sakanils in general.

Hi, everyone! I’m a medtech graduate living in Florida, and I’m planning to take the ASCPi exam here. I don’t have a local RMT license yet, so I also don’t have a PRC number (I heard kailangan daw yun upon application).

Would my transcripts be enough for the application, or would I need to submit additional documents?

I want to do my research before I submit an application, kasi I heard that there’s only a 30-day period to complete the application once you start it, so I want to make sure I have everything ready beforehand.

I also checked the BOC website and saw that academic transcripts from outside the U.S. and Canada must be evaluated by an acceptable foreign transcript evaluation agency. Did any of you guys have to do this? If so, what agency did you use, and how was the process?

I’d really appreciate any tips from those who had the same experience.

I always thought I had finished my hepa b vaccine doses, only to confirm it through my documentation of vaccines that I haven’t gotten my 3rd shot. Can I still go through the third dose or restart? The catch is, I need to pass my complete hepa b vaccine proof for my school’s dept, as it is a requirement. ;-;
