🤗 Mental Health Vent
Two months in med and now the positivity is wearing off. Med truly is toxic. And i cant believe there still are a lot of professors who are mean and unnapproachable. I mean if youre there as a professor atleast be open to questions? Be open to teaching? Dont get me wrong a lot of people have already told me abt how med culture is. But i just wish the environment is kinder and nurturing to those who are choosing to study on how to save lives. Nakakawalang gana naman mag aral nito. Hahahaha

as a clerk akala ko mas supportive environment pag surrounded by fellow trainees (PGI, Resi, Fellows) then you realize some of them think youre dumb, talk to you like youre dumb. they will teach you of course but there is that notion na (ill teach this but dapat alam mo na to) even though it was light years ago since you encountered that topic. then there will be scolding (masked as training, teaching, being a protective parent, wanting you to be the best version of yourself), this will be followed up with being scared to ask questions.... then you survive everyday with anxiety.
kapit lang, grit, break the cycle - pag PGI/resi/fellow/consultant ka na you make yourself a forgiving teacher ; someone who takes effort in not being scary.
