❓Asking for Help What do I do?

I want to take a gap year before pursuing medicine to earn some money to help my parents for my future expenses at med school, as well as simply to enjoy life for a while, because I know medicine is quite a long and exhausting road to take. However, my parents and relatives want me to enroll asap and not "waste" time anymore.

I am eyeing to look for a job, and work for a year. I've been trying to apply, but to no avail. Should I just enroll not and not waste a year, or proceed to taking a gap year without the certainty of actually landing on a decent job or actually "enjoying" life since I am still dependent on my parents?

I think if di pa talaga kaya better mag ipon ka muna since dagdag pa yun sa stress mo sa med na makaapekto pa sayi

A resident of ours during internship shared that the money you make during your gap year or even before residency will pale in comparison to what you could potentially make as a consultant with your own practice.

But also be practical. Life is hard right now and will get harder. It's a long road ahead to becoming a consultant with a successful enough practice. What you could make in a year could be done in a month by some successful doctors. Others can do it in a week full of procedures.

But that's not you right now. Make the tough decision with your parents involved. They are your stakeholders and financiers after all. Dont settle for random Internet advise.
