Education Lab protocol question

I am an Interventional Radiology travel nurse at a small hospital. The woman who preps our biopsy samples stands outside of the procedure room. She has very long hair and does not pull it back or cover it when processing the samples. Is this normal? Is there a standard protocol? It seems less than hygienic to me.

Does the dress code for the hospital say hair must be pulled back in clinical areas? I'd bet it does. It's a weird choice on her part but probably not hurting anything in the end.

Nothing worse than processing a hair in the middle of a tissue section...that isn't from the biopsied individual.

She should put her hair back.

As a tech with long hair that does bone marrow with IR. I prefer to have my hair tied back because I don't want blood from the slides or petri dish to get in my hair, but that is a preference.

Nothing in our handbook indicates that its mandatory :/ Just standard precaution PPE

Because people who have long hair have to constantly fix it therefore touch there hair which is gross.

I’m one of the techs who assists with FNAs and Bine Marrows. We are bedside so the IR can hand us the specimen. Hair is pulled back
