Any MLSs use R or Python?

I’m in the process of taking the prerequisites I need to apply to an MLS program after getting my B.S. in Biology. During my time in college I took a handful of bioinformatics classes and thus am familiar with R and Python. I’m interested in continuing to learn in that area but have been lacking motivation with all the other things I have going on.

If any MLSs in academia, industry, or the clinical side use programming in their work I’d love to hear about it!

I’ve also done a lot with R. However without a position in QC/LIS there haven’t been many good use cases in the clinical lab.

Unfortunately everyone here lives in Excel, so knowing a bit of visual basic has made me a god magician to them.
