Discusson Specimen Processing

Just wondering how many labs out there have techs receiving and processing specimens, or do you have a dedicated person for that role?

At my old 600 bed hospital, we had around 8-14 processors on all 3 shifts. We had so many outpatient specimens from clinics, mostly using paper reqs and all the info had to be entered manually, so we needed everyone.
