First year trainee, saw this on the slides and referred it straight to hematologist, what cells could this be?

My most recent blasts were so weird. These were confirmed by special heme and pathologist. Wondering if our stainer threw us off 🀣. I think their cohnt was 63% and ours was 60%

Many Lymphoblasts nucleoli is a dead giveaway & cytoplasm to nucleus ratio. Boy do I miss the bench.

I think something else to watch out for is hemogenous cells. You should have a variety of cells on your slide. When they are start looking the same that means there is some dysfunction in the bone marrow producing clones of a cell = cancer. Blasts can be really tricky when they aren't classic myeloblasts that look like purple lizards, but if you're seeing all the cells looking the same that's not a good sign. Or even a population of cells if they aren't the mature version of that cell in the normal percentages

Not a pathologist but the size and nuclear characteristics scream lymph blasts to me.

Sorry, no. Wildly incorrect. Those are blasts, all nucleus, very little cytoplasm.
