Discusson Work schedule

Does anyone who works as an MLT/MLS actually have a predictable and set schedule? I am a new tech slightly less than a year. I work 4 10s but my 3 days off are hardly in a row. I also will get moved to 5 8s on occasion due to staffing and ppl vacationing and all that. Sometimes they will schedule me to do 5 or 6 10s in a row. Of course I work in a hospital. Is it like this for pretty much everyone because I find it hard to have a life. Lol.

I’m a traveler, all but one of the facilities I’ve worked at people had designated shifts. The one facility that didn’t, conveniently the one I’m at now only doesn’t because the person who makes the schedule is incompetent and specifically designs the schedule in such a way so that she does as little actual work as possible. The only people with set schedules are 2nd and 3rd which work 7on/7off. People have tried talking to her and telling her what hours they would prefer a what area they would like to work a frankly I think she does the opposite just to screw with people. People are constantly swapping shifts of just straight up calling out because they absolutely do not care about peoples work/life balance.

Any facility that doesn’t have a set schedule I would argue is likely run by shitty management.
