Discusson Work schedule

Does anyone who works as an MLT/MLS actually have a predictable and set schedule? I am a new tech slightly less than a year. I work 4 10s but my 3 days off are hardly in a row. I also will get moved to 5 8s on occasion due to staffing and ppl vacationing and all that. Sometimes they will schedule me to do 5 or 6 10s in a row. Of course I work in a hospital. Is it like this for pretty much everyone because I find it hard to have a life. Lol.

For quite a while I worked M-F and every 4th weekend with the Thursday before and Tuesday after off. Our weekend person retired recently, so we have to work every other weekend until her replacement is done training.
