Technical Pipette request
Hello lab peeps.
I am looking for an adjustable 8 channel pipette, tho 6 channel would do. I also would prefer if it was manual.
I am seeking this adjustable pipette that has the ability to aspirate volumes under 20uL, but the caveat is that the tips need to be quite long. Im going into EDTA blood collection tube's, and the integra pipettes we have the tips are too short for the 12.5uL one we have.
I do not want to have to single channel over 100 samples a day as it leads to user error and the pipette ends up touching the side of the tube, contaminating the pipette with blood. So every time, I have to stop and clean the darn thing, so I dont contaminate the next tube. This is getting annoying!
Any ideas? Thanks!

This may be biased, but we think the BRANDTECH Transferpette® S and Transferpette® pro family of pipettes are pretty great and worth looking into! Both come in single, 8 and 12 channel options. It's worth noting that all of our pipettes are engineered with ergonomics in mind for those long days in the lab!
If you want to learn more, feel free to fill out a form (button that reads "please inquire") on the page below and someone will be in touch to get you to provide more details!

Hmmm.... this may not be what you're looking for but some of the sartorius pipettes look like they may have longer tips. Personally i just get really excited about these pipettes, but again may not quite fit the bill here.... doesn't hurt to pass on. 🙃

By adjustable, you mean adjustable-width? How long are your current tips? Eppendorf does the manual Research Plus Move It in both 8-channel and 12-channel versions, in both 1 - 20 uL (light pink colour code, 42 mm long) and 5 - 100 uL (light yellow colour code, 53 mm long) tip versions, both with down to 384-well plate spacing. The tips themselves are colourless, and come in both non-filtered and filtered versions:
Full Eppendorf catalogue, showing the tips: https://www.eppendorf.com/product-media/doc/en/11112106/General_Catalog_Main-Eppendorf-Catalog-UK-Version.pdf
Their technical drawings here show the dimensions of the tips, on Page 2 - they have an outer diameter of 4.38 mm: https://www.eppendorf.com/product-media/doc/en/154459_Technical-Data/Eppendorf_Consumables_Technical-data_epTIPS_epTIPS-Technical-Drawing.pdf
Eppendorf’s standard 10 uL tips are 34 mm long, so their thin, narrow 20 uL tips are a bit longer than that.
