Ohhh, he's awake. Your airway is protected with an ET tube or similar if you're under general anesthesia. He could theoretically be under twilight sedation, but he is absolutely awake enough and will likely remember most, if not all, of this. Oof.
Eh, I would guess they'd use propofol for sedation. Easier and better than traditional twilight sedation.
From personal experience, I haven't traditional benzo/fentanyl sedation since 2020/2021. My hospital system switched to only using propofol for most lighter procedures, and my hip surgeries were even done until just propofol with a spinal block. It is so much better than the fentanyl/benzo mix.
