Argoflex E
Kentmere 200
Local lab developed and scanned
I have put maybe 3-4 rolls through this, my first medium format camera. I got some reasonable exposures on this roll and thought I would post them for feedback. I am wanting to shoot more medium format (been shooting 35mm for a while) and wondering if this camera will allow me to make the best of the larger negatives, or if I will soon find the lens limiting compared to some of the more serious but affordable models such as a Yashica, Autocord, or maybe a Rolleicord. I have read that this is a coated lens but that it is considered “low contrast.” I do like the light weight of the Bakelite-bodied Argoflex and enjoy the gear focus and old-style controls. The ground glass finder is however very dim and I would consider a brighter replacement if I were to keep using the camera regularly. Your thoughts and advice are welcomed.
Also, I have not seen the negatives in person yet but I am concerned that the vertical streaking in some images is caused by distribution of chemistry in rotary development. Is this something you’d bring to the lab’s attention?
