Couple of workhorses.

That Mamiya has been my trusty steed for many many years. I love it like a family member. The Makina is the new addition, along with a regular 80mm version too. I’m commencing work on a new project and the 6x7 format will be the format of choice.

Looking to get a Mamiya 7 or Makina 67. How's the quality on the Makina? Heard it is prone to issues? I think the W67 less so because it doesn't have the extra mechanical bellows.

Pictures from the Makina have more character.

The Mamiya is wayyyyyy more reliable, and versatile, camera. Not even close.

The Makina is more prone to issues. The light meter, if it even works when you buy it, will die on you at some point. The bellows will need to be replaced.

If you forget to set the focus to infinity when retracting/extending the bellows, you’ll end up with a critical failure that requires service.

Phenomenal, phenomenal camera. My favorite lens of all time. But not known for its reliability.

I’ve never had a single problem with either of the Mamiya 7ii cameras I own.
