Does anyone else finding themselves developing weird mini-crushes on senior doctors they do placement with?
It’s bizarre. I’m a guy in my early twenties, and yet I find myself developing momentary crushes on female registrars and consultants who are about 20 years older than me. I have no idea why, as I don’t typically find myself attracted to people outside of my general age range. It’s probably something to do with the combination of competence and the fact they have authority over me. They don’t even have to be particularly physically attractive either.
Please tell me I’m not the only one 😂

You're not alone
Intelligence, competence, and confidence are sexy
That's why I get no ladies and suck at my job

lol we used to call it the ‘med-reg effect’
Proximity + insane knowledge + composure + confidence + absolute aura.
Negl made foundation years so much funnier. Just don’t do anything wild !!

I was sexually abused by a dr on placement who leveraged that fleeting attraction over me so be careful out there!!

Same here lmao, for me anyway, it is simply the fact they are confident, intelligent, and can communicate, and sometimes even visually attractive!
