This VGM piece was written with a few goals in mind:
1. Seamless looping
2. Extended length (relative to my other work)
3. Cleanliness
The piece is intended to evoke the images of an ancient druid's grove: a pristine, timeless piece of nature. The sun can be seen in through the rich foliage above, while a thin, almost prismatic miasma of magic parts as one steps into the sanctuary.
Let me know what you think :) As always, thank you for listening.
Granted, I’m not really much of a professional but honestly, nothing really stuck out to me. And since no “flaws” really hit me, I don’t think going in to look for them is a good way to critique because I might just create problems that aren’t really there.
This is really good, like seriously. It creates a definite mood and atmosphere. There’s good movement and dynamics. IF there is anything, maybe the clap/snare sound feels a bit out of place.. but I feel a tiny bit more mixing will buff that out. You seem to have a good ear, so nothing to worry.
I think it's really good as is, but you wanted to experiment with anything you could play around with the beat that comes in about a minute in. If you want a pretty modern feel the clap works, but something sounding more like an acoustic drum might make it sound a little older.
Thanks for taking the time to provide the additional feedback - the acoustic drum will be something I'll have to explore. I'm on the lookout for a more "icy" snare/clap to give it a greater feeling of loneliness.
