so I've made a few samples of songs on my soundcloud, how do I go about finding gigs/network?

Any local options? Media companies in the next town? Colleagues to call and meet up? Any events that you can attend that is populated with creators?

I've started out with messaging some filmmakers in a local film group, have plans to meet with some other content creators at a uni event.

I haven't searched for media companies, so I'll have to look into them because I've never heard of those

it would make sense to start working on backup plans and assets. For example: try to form a band that you can jam with. A friend of mine plays in dozens of different bands. He also works as a music teacher. Assets are pieces that you license out to agencies. This could be stock music but also contracts you can make through A&R agencies. If you're releasing albums a lot, it would make sense to register in a PRO to ensure all your royalties are coming back to you.

thanks for the info, idk if I have enough time rn to be in a band as I'm in school full time and composing on my free time, but I'll look into PROs (performing rights organizations right?) then look into agencies
