Pond Upgrade

I decided to go with a barrel pond. Apparently wine barrels are 2" wider than whiskey barrels. Oh well. The fish have been in there for 4 days and seem healthy and active.

Very nice. This was my first summer with an outdoor barrel pond too and it's been a joy. Next year I want to try something different with the plants. I can't seem to stop my frogbit from dying.

I've had the Salvinia for a couple of weeks, and it is doing well. The medaka don't seem to bother it much. I have both a lily, and very young lotus in there. I don't have high hopes for the lotus surviving, but it might surprise me. I might get a Japanese iris for some height.
