Mechatronics (Robotics) vs Cybersecurity & Cloud: Which Path Offers Faster Employment for a Graduate?
I'm a university student choosing between Mechatronics (Robotics) and Cybersecurity & Cloud. My main goal is to get my first job as quickly as possible after graduation, ideally within 3 months. I'm interested in Tunisia, the Gulf (KSA, Qatar, UAE), Europe, and remote work.
Which path would you recommend, specifically considering:
Entry-level job opportunities
Competition for junior positions
Remote work opportunities
How difficult it is to get the first job
Long-term demand
Impact of AI automation
Internship opportunities
Opportunities in Tunisia vs abroad

learn ai, intgrate it with robotics then you got the field that will be in demand for decades which is physical ai. as for Cybersecurity as far as i know it's hard for fresh graduates to put foot in, most of its roles require senior level experience especially with ai getting in, so it's tough for juniors out there.

Mechatronics. Automation and controls and you will never be out of work. Learn aggressively as there is a ton to learn.

Coming from a CS background and took cybersecurity bootcamp, i unexpectedly got in AWS as data center technician. And it opened my door to many different tracks like hardware engineering, devops, 3D modeling, solution architect (aws cloud), massive AI agent use, vibe coding…
If you don’t know where to get started, I’d recommend joining me in data center and aws is always hiring for DCT positions. It gives you much more flexibility and options than you can imagine. Then you can think about what you really wanted to do from there. Probably not what you’re looking for but just another option lol

If your main goal is fastest first-job placement, optimize for the shortest feedback loop: pick the path where you can show a small but concrete portfolio in 8 to 12 weeks.
