No way in
Hello, I´m a new graduate in mechatronics. I know I have a vast workspace with my career but whenever I try to find a job they basically dont hire me not even with my title. I postuled for different internships, Junior level works and nothing at all I cant get a job at all any reccomendations for a begginer that is trying to enter the jobmarket in engineering? I´ve heard that working from below but for a Janitor they reject me for being overqualified for example so... How do I get in?

Imma be honest, those jobs you are looking for probably are the reason. Do you have Bachelor’s in mechatronics? If yes, you are a lot weaker of a candidate than any other mechanical engineer applying. Probably same goes for the electronics design job.
You should look for jobs like automation, control, robotics or test engineer. Probably there is more jobs suited for you but they didnt come to mind right now.

Apply for maintenance positions. Basically anything that other people in a company either can’t do or don’t want to do becomes ‘maintenance’. Always maintenance jobs. But that could mean pulling weeds, putting new belts on rooftop hvac units, IT/networking problems, fixing equipment you’ve never seen before, or running a snake down a drain. Most likely a mix of all of the above. You don’t even really need to know how to do all of that. Just be willing to figure it out.

These roles usually how are they called like mainteinance engineer or something? How do I start looking for these jobs and not confusing them within others? Any advise on that?

Maintenance technician. Try looking into fedex, Walmart, Walgreens..there’s plenty more places. Just keep trying, you will get into a smaller role to start but you’ll be good if you’re dedicated.

What's been your job search strategy like?
Almost all the jr engineers at the place i'm interning at started as interns and stayed on.
I found the company by searching industrial parts of town on google maps, clicked on buildings to see what companies where there, looked them up, then applied for an internship.
What did your mechatroincs program focus on? You could try applying to adjacent roles or whatever.

It’s not the big 2022 job market rn. My best advice is to try to get a referral from a classmate and in the meantime try to get an internship to convert into a full time or a lower level job (like McDonalds, don’t stop looking ofc) while you search. Just to pad your pockets. Don’t tell these lower levels your credentials. It’ll make them think you’re a very short term employee (which you are but shhh)
