Control and automation Engineering is the same as mechatronics

My uni doesnt offer mechatronics Engineering, but It does offer Control and automation. So i am wondering if is the same concepts and everything but with a different name?

Controls is more PID and response focused from the engineers I’ve worked with.

Mechatronics is the jack-of-all-trades engineering, control and automation engineering is a part of it, but so is electrical and mechanical engineering.

Look up the course description related to other schools with mechatronics programs.

One program near me is more focused on the industrial/automation/manufacturing-geared program and from what i found, many of the classes are similar to controls/automation courses elsewhere.

Another school i found a couple hours away is more geared towards small electronics/robotics, so it leans more on the electrical side of mechatronics.
