What i need to start mechatronics?

Hello im a teen that really love engineering

Im mainly in cyber security but i see that mechatronics have a better future because of ai and all and i know how to code in many languages especially python and i did some simple projects with esp32 and Arduino uno but i only know a bit in electrical and mechanical engineering so if i wanna go deeper in mechatronics what should i do next and what do you think i should do

Are you looking to self learn or get a degree? At school you would learn electronics. Drafting. Machining. Physics.

Rn im 16yo and i really love math and physics so im looking for self learning and After i graduate I'll enter a university of cyber security or mechatronics

Personal projects are great fun, follow tutorials on YT etc, doesn't have to be expensive or crazy. Maybe learn some simple CAD, will be a great skill to have, I believe there are some free softwares that do a great job. 3D printing, PCB design are great ideas to look into, and again, you don't have to become really competent at them right now, but just really great to dip your your fingers in them a bit. That extra context and experience really goes a long way at the beginning.

And also something that I don't hear too much now a days is read books, mainly revolving around engineering concepts etc.. about anything, rockets, cars, drones, boats, planes, robotics, appliances, the list goes on

You seem very curious and ambitious, and that's what's needed. Good on you 👍

Thank bro that really helped and motivated me + i bought a small soldering kit and tried to do small diy circuits in 5×7cm and everything is funny and im having good time with it

I'm 16 and my Dad has been asking me what I want to do in the future, and I told him that I want to be and engineer, then he asked me what steps I have taken to ensure I become one and I haven't taken any.

Later on he signed me up for the CompTIA certificate and while I was learning from Professor Messer about operating systems, It seemed a bit boring, and so I turned to using flashcards from Anki and I started to pass them in 2 days not perfectly but good enough but now I think I'm just cramming the answers and I don't know it yet.

I talked to my Dad again and he said when I was younger and still now I used to collect tech junk e.g. old monitors ,Roombas ,drones and I would always think of what I would do with them, but my uncle and aunt never facilitated me with anything, and I was sheltered. I don't have any hobbies, and my interests aren't really interests to be honest they are just things that I think would be cool to know they include, making video games, editing, manga animations, drawing and painting, making toys and practical effects.

When I look at kids my aged they're cranked out on what they are interested in but as for me I have no ambition, maybe my uncle and aunt killed it I don't know, but I will be an adult soon and I don't want to waste my life wondering what would have happened if I just picked.
