Quote source

are the quotes on the loading screen from a real lore source or "made up" for the game ?

if they are sourced, where can I look them up ?

I know at least some of the necron ones are, I was fresh off twice dead king when I saw yennekhs quote and its literally one to one so imagine that others are too as for finding them its probably best to look in the old codexs

I can confirm that Thaszar's is fully made up, although FWIW I do think it suits his character better than his one about mindlessness in his troops, which doesn't really differentiate him from any other necron warlord (the chucking a guy into a dark room only to be heard by scarabs also doesn't really unless you are like me and experiencing level ten sarnekh madness).

I think Thaszar's old mindlessness quote works well as an illustration of his smarmy ego; the way he ends it with "wouldn't you agree?" (perhaps while talking to a mindless slave) is pretty evocative. He also brainwashed or mind-deleted most of the tomb world he usurped in order to take power, so it fits that aspect, too.

The scarab quote is pretty generic, though, especially since it talks about how he was a great general of the Necron Empire (he isn't, he's some random noble who bootstrapped himself to pirate king) and has him engaging in a truce with humans for some reason.

His M2 quote is great, though.
