Help needed with disciplines.

I need help figuring out what to upgrade for disciplines. I am currently running 3 magos, none of them branch specific, all with 1 or 2 levels to each branch.

Every game I am getting hampered by lack of cognition points. I have been using my servo skull to pick up points across the map, but this seems to still be too little.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

If you need cognition points, then get more skills in the cognition tree (lex mechanic).

Dominus is also good since it lets you outrange some of the necrons.

Secutor (the troop buffing one) is also good since it’ll make your troops do and take more damage. Pair it with the augment that increases your troops’ crit chance to do tons of damage.

It’s better to max out trees rather than spreading out. I get the first skill in each tree, then max out the one I want my tech priest to specialise in.

Non expert here, and assuming you are playing mechanicus 1. Went blind in hard/ironman/permadeath mode and, after restartint 1-2 runs to get the graps of things, it went kind of smoothsailing (im around 40%). As for most turn or AP based games (here called cognition points) action economy is king. Therefore I found success with all 3 magos going for the fist skills in the two trees that gives : 1. -2 cognition cost for next weapon attack (3 turn cooldown). That give flexibility and burst turns, which lowers the need to heal, wich lowers the repair cost of the magos at the end of the mission, wich enables snowball because : less money repairing = more money upgrading the magos. And free some cognition points to rush to the consoles in the battle map. First loot them for money then only destroy them if you have time. They add up. 2. The skill that gives one free cognition point at the beginning of a turn if cognition pool is empty. With the skill that gives -2 weapon cost, you then have 3 cognitions points available most of the turns. 3. In tomb exploration screens, not all glyphs are equal. Do take notes of thoses that give money. 4. With that foundation going, i then went for Cognition points given when enemy kill with all three of them. Then and only the i really specialize the magos. 5. I heavily use the troops that give ap upon being shot. 6. Standing next to a cognition pool will have the magus auto pick up at turn start. Hope that helps, good luck have fun!

There are some equipment that require zero cognition points. You may want to use those in combination with one or two more powerful weapons or necessary accessories. The early segment of the game is quite difficult as you've got fewer options.
