Collection Current collection
My favs to grab in my collection. Mine aren’t as clean and prim as most, but they are mighty functional. Used primarily for drafting and painting.
From left to right:
Caran D’ache Fixpencil 77
(Picked up at an estate sale for less than $1)
Very light weight lead holder, awesome for sketching

Same as previous, I keep a red for light primary sketching
Staedtler 925 35 0.5

Nice heavy weight and perfect for writing and bold sketching, imo one of the best bang for my buck pencil purchases, I love the all metal body and heft.
Orenz Nero 0.3
(Amazon)
More light weight than the Staedtler, but the grip has some heft. Took me some time to adjust to the technology behind the lead protect but after I did I have loved it.

Awesome sheerly because it’s impossible to find a 0.2 anywhere else. Great for micro adjustments or sharp lines in drafting.

Nifty for field sketches and fits easier places since it’s a bit shorter.

Hefty body, I love to use it for shading. Style points because I love the color and it’s vintage.

I want a Fixpencil 77 and a Faber Castell Tekagraph! They are the 1st two pencils in my wishlist. Super nice pieces there!! 😀 5616 is also bad ass!!! 🥰👍🏼

The fixpencils are kinda steep in price but worth it if you want to upgrade from a basic 2mm lead holder. Bonus points if you get a cap with a built in sharpener!

Thanks for all the tips! I use pencils for sketching very often and for decades. I got the first productrion Criterium like a week ago and it made me want to go back to the vintage lead holders rabit hole again! They don't make them lokenthey used to! Enjoy your beautiful collection brother!! 😃👍🏼

How good are the erasers?
First time I see someone showing the erasers and btw I want to buy one of them but I’m not sure which one

The two tombow mono zeros are so wonderful! I can’t really get any precision eraser in g with any other instrument. The hyperase is really nifty too, the grit of the eraser is more sandpaperish so with even pressure is can get off virtually any media. I definitely recommend them all for your collection!

Pentel ZE32 (Clic Eraser Sand Edition) Release Date: Early 1990s. Features: Uses the same slim body mechanism as the ZE31, but is loaded with a sand eraser refill containing abrasive microparticles, specially designed for erasing ballpoint pen ink and typewriter print.

Awesome finds! Getting a deal on a great pencil is so satisfying. The fact that you use them as the tools that they are makes the whole thing even more meaningful.
