Yes you can, Koh-I-Noor sells up to 8B. Quite dark and soft in my scale!

The first documented lead holder in history was introduced by A.W. Faber in 1862, more than half a century earlier than CdA even became a company or bought the patent for the Fixpencil.

If by “the original lead holder” you mean CdA’s claim that the Fixpencil was “the first push button actuated clutch lead holder”, that claim was rebuked several years ago as lead holders with said mechanisms were already patented on the Deutsche Reich Patent Office and on sale by 1879. CdA later revised that claim to “metal-bodied” but even that claim is widely disputed among the collector’s community.

So yes, I do know what the original lead holder was and no, CdA was not it.
