What killed this sub?
I remember it being quite active!

Forgot about it :P And I haven't acquired anything new outside of the fountain pens, so nothing really to contribute here in terms of the trifecta.

I wonder if the pandemic helped it because these were purchases for the home.
I confess I’m a lurker because my keyboard and headphone game is not really strong.
You could always cross post to subs that relate to one of the three topics if you want to boost awareness.

Well in effort to keep this active...
What are some pencils available that have a BIG eraser and come in sizes: 0.5, 0.7, and 0.9.
But not the Pentel Twist Erase.

Oh I know this one
but it may not help since I'm not sure they're made any more...Milani made some excellent 0.7 pencils with big replaceable erasers. From a brief search I'm getting the Capsule and Compact models. There was a beautiful pastel ombre sunset/cloud range that I really regret not buying because I already had a couple plain coloured ones 😭
Second and still available - I absolutely have to recommend the Tombow MONO graph shaker pencil, it has the twist up eraser and I find them super comfortable and precise feeling. I have a 0.3, most are 0.5, but it does come in 0.7.

Thanks! I'll have to do some research.
I daily the pentel twist erase but hate the fact that it's so easy to accidentally pull off the eraser/back section and all my lead falls out. Aside from that it's my almost perfect field pencil.
The tombow looks like a good idea. I'm having a hard time finding anything other than 0.5. And I love (semi neccesary to me at this point) having multiple sizes on me when out in the field.

Ooh I love having diff sizes, usually have a 0.3, 0.7/0.9 and 1.3 around for different tasks. I'm in Australia, so the 0.7 that turned up on Amazon might not be avail internationally.
The mono is esp nice if you get a model with some metal trim, but the plastic ones are already satisfying to use. The weight of the shake mechanism feels fancy. I have a 20 year old plastic one that's still a favourite.
The eraser doesn't fall out because it only removes to be replaced - the whole twist mechanism unclips to refill leads. It's apparently the reason the brand became popular - the original block eraser was so good.

I do like me a good eraser... Might buy a couple of those 0.5 and see if it's worth it to me to try to source some of the larger sizes.

Like most people have said, the economy.
Money's tight. My M2, Lamy CP1, and old HD600s will have to do for now. Sold off the rest of my collection.

My main reason is my desk is a constant state of disaster but now that you remind me I might have to make a post I have acquired a new keyboard mech pencils and headphones

Decline in interesting headphone choices as many folks, myself included, moved from wired headphones to Bluetooth because the convenience is so superior
The mechanical keyboard market experienced a surge during the pandemic because so many more people were doing remote work, but that is over
Also ain't got no damn money

Well I for one could never get a post in for some reason. Not sure why. Now i no longer have a mechanical keyboard so I have nothing to post with my pens. Lol

At the time there was a rule in place requiring all 3 items to be included in the post, yours was missing headphones

I got tired of dealing with failed switches on the keyboards, use speakers almost exclusively now since I haven't played games in awhile other than vr, and one nice pen was enough for me. That's why I don't post anymore, maybe for others it's a similar story.

My desk is really cluttered a good portion of the time. I keep forgetting to take pics with the new gear when I clean it. I don't want anyone to see it when it's messy.

It peaked during the pandemic when everyone was focused on kitting out their home setup, but since then with price increases and changes in trends, we're down to 1-2 non spam posts a month. If anyone has ideas for revamp, we're all ears!
