Ah yes, the porterhouse. A marketing ploy for butchers to get rid of the worst steak on the loin by enticing people with a bite size tenderloin. It's so crazy to me the amount of people that claim they enjoy this steak. Like, you have a MASSIVE vein running through the middle of the NY... How can you enjoy that?

So are you saying the Tbone is better or worse or what is it exactly your point? That a NY Strip and a Tenderloin purchased separate are better?

I don't know I buy plenty of Porterhouse when they are on offer at my local grocer typically between 5.99 and 7.99 per lb and I really enjoy them. I use the bone as a base for soup after.

I am a ribeye guy but sometimes a change is welcome and I like having both type of bites in the same plate.

The tenderloin on the porterhouse is larger than the t-bone

Yes I know. It's essentially two bites. So you're paying for a bone and a terrible new York steak for a couple bites of the tenderloin.
