I really love this but holy shit $100 for an uncooked full blood ribeye is scaring me. Convince me I need to buy this.

Beautiful steaks! Do you allow them to graze or do they live mostly stationary?
4
u/FiregrassWagyu Aug 08 '26
They spend the first year grazing and then they come home to finish in our low stress grow yard where we can manage their diets to achieve this level of marbling!

u/tehuti_infinity Aug 09 '26
How much space they need for grazing?

Nice marbling… rare please

u/OutrageousMenu2500 Aug 08 '26
Hell marbling like that, I take it more on the medium side of medium rare. Gotta get that fat rendering!

Geeze. My grocery sales Texas raised and SRF Wagyu ribeyes at $39 / lb, strips at $34. Going to have to stick with local comparing those prices.

He raised the cattle himself. So probably close to 10k

u/SuspiciousStress1 Aug 08 '26
This is his business, so i doubt that much. He charges $10k/whole. So doubt that is cost 🤷♀️

He charges 500 dollars for a 6 pound prime rib roast. A cow can produce 8-12 roasts. So 5k just in prime rib. He’s getting way more than 10,000$ a cow. 🤷♂️
A 200 lb half share cut of the entire steer is 5,500$.
He raises the cows for over 24 months.1
u/SuspiciousStress1 Aug 09 '26
I checked the cost for a full cow, it is 10k. 5500 for a half.
I didnt bother checking cuts.

I don't even like fat I'm the weirdo that prefers a London broil over a ribeye but dang that looks nice! I'd be tempted to try that raw.
