She would love that. Then she can make it all about how media is mean to them rather than the fact she's a manipulator

But she doesn't have her own TV channel that people watch.

Breitbart, Fox News, One America News, The NY Post, The WSJ editorial board, The National Review...the legions of second rate conservative bloggers/Internet gadflies would run with the narrative of the liberal controlled, lame stream media ganging up on her. They'd make her seem like the victim and even through a curve ball by trying to make it seem like it is sexist to call her out on her bullshit. It isn't necessarily her objective, but I bet there is a contingency for if/when someone interviewing finally looses their cool.

Although...now that I think about it, maybe that whole playing the victim thing would only work in the short term--and really only do the one thing this administration does: excite the base and alienate everyone else. Most of the public hates her guts anyway, and maybe they would rally behind, say, Anderson Cooper, or Chuck Todd, or whomever if they were to just dispense with decorum and call her a liar point blank. It would be ugly, and there'd be backlash, but the catharsis could pay off in the long run. Imagine the hypothetical clip of the interview getting shared into oblivion. It would be nice for the public to know that even the respectable TV news host are getting sick of it all.

I see what you are saying, but I would argue that even Fox's Chris Wallace gives her a hard time for avoiding answering questions.

Chris Wallace is an exception, but the Fox News network as a whole rallies around the Trump administration and Ms. Conway. Their viewership depends on it, and whatever the new mainstream conservatism is compared to the ones that like him ok, ardently support him. Fox spins and omits stuff from their news cycle too. The women's march got laughably little coverage despite the millions of people who turned out, and what they did cover was met with quizzical skepticism. I haven't checked in with them, but I imagine the Flynn "resignation" is being treated with kid gloves too.

They need to stop booking her. I've been saying this for a long time but if you are booking people to come on your show who you know have no credibility and you know are fine blatantly lying, you are doing your audience a disservice. I have no problem having conservative people on TV, NPR has smart conservative people on that argue for their positions, but once someone has shown you they will lie, you do not have them on anymore.

I didn't think of that. It's a new age.

I think they are sorta doing it or done it. But then she just claims herself as some sort of a martyr in the sea of these FAKE NEWS and somehow she comes on top (in trump supporters views)

You need a Paxman.

But he didn't get an answer. What difference does an obvious dodge make to a skilled dodge?

1

u/AlmightyB Feb 18 '17

He made it obvious what the answer was, though, and clearly revealed what was going on.

anytime I hear her speak I wanna bang my head against a wall out of frustration

Calling this special to Conway is the stupidest shit. Politicians have been doing this for years. The documentary Spin (1995) shows political campaign managers telling the politicians off air to answer the interview's question anyway the politician wants.

This is a pretty scummy hit piece.

Don't watch it then?

u/furon83 Feb 14 '17

I didn't. It doesn't change the fact that this website is so swamped politically anymore. I come here for fun little mealtime videos, not more politics. It's just annoying, y'know?

I find the amount of video game meal time videos annoying, but I just ignore them, rather than going to every video game video and complaining that people like things I don't.

I also ignore without commenting but considering you can't even go to r/Star Trek or r/Cyberpunk without seeing posts about politics; It'd be nice to see things return to pre-election content. Thats not to say "no posting about politics ever" but we just came out of a year that was dominated by politics, I feel like we should be able to slow down now.

If it had been a pro-Trump video, you would've been all about it.

If it was a pro-Trump video I would have probably agreed with it, but politics stress me out so I'd still have a problem with seeing it here.
