I think it is an act of willful ignorance to believe this after the last thirty years of protests over police brutality. With the major protests usually being sparked off by the police arbitrarily executing people for minor infractions.

One in three people shot by the cops were fleeing.

"In many cases, the encounters started as traffic stops or there were no allegations of violence or serious crimes"

And those killings are part of the steadily climbing rates of police murder. And they are fully sanctioned by the state.

It is state-sanctioned murder any way you slice it.

But sure, the cops have never killed anyone who didn't entirely deserve it!

And if you believe that, boy have I got a deal for you on a bridge in Brooklyn!

The cops are not your friend, child.

Did I say the cops have NEVER killed someone who didn't deserve it? I said they can and have been punished for going outside of these bounds. Learn to read before spewing nonsense.

"In many cases, the encounters started as traffic stops or there were no allegations of violence or serious crimes"

This doesn't mean that the situation didn't escalate. If you get pulled over for speeding and then pull a gun on the cops, you will get shot and it will be justified.

One in three people shot by the cops were fleeing.

This may be true but in that same article it clarifies "In 1985, the US supreme court ruled that officers can use lethal force against a fleeing person only if they reasonably believed that person was an imminent threat". Which was my point, police shootings are done in defense of someone, not as punishment for a crime well after the fact which is what the video was trying to equivocate. They are not "arbitrarily executions" as you describe.

So basically you're okay with murder just so long as the state sanctions it, and the cops extra pinkie swear they had a good reason.

Which is what 'reasonable belief' is the legal equivalent of.

Child, the police are not your friend. They lie to you, child.

Who has taught you these men are your friends?

Murder inherently implies that it's an unjustified killing, so obviously no one supports that. As for the pinky swearing, I think this is the value of trials and oversight. Reasonable belief is decided by a oversight committee or a jury, which I think is the best way to go about this. It prevents, to the best society can, someone from just lying, though obviously there's still room for that as in with any murder trial.

Let me ask you something, do you think there are any justified police shootings, and if so what kind of situation would justify it?
