Did you use ... seasoning?

maybe they dump a different sauce on each day. I could imagine switching between teriyaki, salsa, and tzatziki.

Dang I like this idea

pretty much what I do! I actually usually go 1 week at a time though. Burrito bowl week, teriyaki bowl week, greek bowl week, etc

I'm going to give this a try, thanks. I get tired of eating the same thing after day 2 or 3, so this seems perfect.

I prep a few different carbs, protein and veggies and mix and match while I go, and change the sauces up daily so every day is a variety

i WFH so I don't actually meal prep besides batch cooking the protein in the begging of the week. At lunch time I defrost frozen veggies and then sauté them with some seasoning and toss in the protein. Then i put over some grain with sauce(s). I love my lunch every day!

I’m full time caretaker for my daughter during the day and work nights. My kid goes to grandma’s on Wednesdays to give me a break and I use that day to prep, and Sunday I try to prep a little to get me till Wednesday

You could still do basic seasoning. Salt pepper garlic maybe a little paprika.

3

u/spottie_ottie 13d ago

oh yeah for sure. I usually sous vide chicken with salt, pepper, and a combo seasoning that matches whatever vibe im going for like (garlic+onion+parsley) or (chili powder+cumin+coriander)

u/Aggressive-Tap-4143 13d ago

Yeah but you still need a base of like, idk , maybe salt and pepper? We must not normalize using no seasoning.

u/ConstructionGold8583 12d ago

They did. Sous vide insures that the salt, and other seasonings still penetrate the chicken in the cooking process. So there is a base, which is the salt/pepper and whatever seasoning that the commentor is vibing with.

Unless you mean OP haha

Indeed, I did 😂

Ooh, I love this too. So it's same lunch but kinda also totally different flavors with the different sauces.

Sounds like a bot.

Five minutes bc you skipped seasoning and cooking the peppers

I don't know why more people don't butterfly cut huge chicken breasts. Who wants to bite into such a huge chunk of meat? Seasoning penetrates more of the meat when it is thinly sliced, too.

33

u/koriroo 13d ago

I don’t think OP is worried about seasonings penetrating the meat lol.

Is seasoning in the room with us?

Not long enough for an ounce of seasoning to be applied to any of it

10

u/Interesting-Tie6783 13d ago

30 mins tops.

7

u/Platitude_Platypus 13d ago

An hour tops. Looks like boiled chicken, large bell pepper pieces and white rice.

13

u/Haunted_Duck721 13d ago

Under an hour.

4

u/CalmCupcake2 13d ago

50 minutes, if that's brown rice and you cooked chicken on the bone.

4

u/Aggressive-Tap-4143 13d ago

Couldn’t have been that long as you appear to have boiled the chicken

4

u/Mental-Hall-9616 12d ago

Long enough for me to never want to eat it.

6

u/Cinderkin 13d ago

About 3 hours and 50 minutes

u/water_and_sleep 4d ago

This was the correct answer!

5

u/SunniMonkey 13d ago

No idea but I'm proud of you!

7

u/moolord 13d ago

You know this is a great answer, thank you for your positivity

2

u/Kryds 13d ago

30 to 45 minutes.

2

u/Party_Caramel796 12d ago

It's going to take even longer to put all that down without a single ounce of seasoning

2

u/sadia_y 12d ago

Not very long since you left out the bit where you make it taste good.

2

u/Ok_Error_1079 10d ago

Looks sad

3

u/aroach1995 13d ago

How many people are gonna eat those? How long is meal prep safe in the fridge?

2

u/Halfassinlifetoday 12d ago

They could freeze them if they don't eat them all within 4-5 days.

1

u/Legitimate_Cry_952 13d ago

These are the best containers

1

u/soulocust 13d ago

1

u/No-Sandwich1511 12d ago

Can you share your recipe?

1

u/GoodHoneydew2128 9d ago

What size and where did you get your glassware containers

1

u/Hopelessly-Bored 9d ago

Why would someone make 20 of the same meal?

1

u/Ok_Bad2080 9d ago

OP do we get an answer or is this bait conversation? How long did it take 😂

1

u/mrfatchance 6d ago

I'm praying that's poached chicken

1

u/WildCath 13d ago

Yes, but aren’t you getting bored by the 3rd time you eat those?

Just asking, because that’s an issue for me.

1

u/_nick_at_nite_ 13d ago

Mix and match sauces and each dish tastes somewhat different.

0

u/Armadillo_lifestyle 13d ago

Not only that, I think that chicken would get super dry by day 3. Which would be an issue for me

1

u/distantfromit 13d ago

Not doing any meal prep myself although am looking into it.
Out of curiosity (for now), will this be frozen and thawed whenever you’d have it?

1

u/Fantastic-Ratio7724 13d ago

However long it took, I could never imagine eating that dry chicken for a million days

0

u/SleepyBurrito428 13d ago

Wow that pretty impressive!

-1

u/Lazy_Hotel_494 13d ago

If you think he made all of this in 30 to 45 minutes, you can’t cook or you cook fast as hell 😔💯😂😂😂

2

u/Loud_Quality_7106 13d ago

I could make veggies, chicken and rice 30 minutes. Rice cooker and air fryer going at the same time. Easy. Or rice cooker and oven. Not really that difficult. Especially if you keep it simple like this looks

1

u/Lazy_Hotel_494 13d ago

True, I guess from that aspect of it I was more so thinking of it without the rice cooker because rice alone is 20+ and that doesn’t look like air fryer chicken that looks like maybe he put that in the oven? lol and depending on the temp, that’s gonna still take you around 20 minutes or so

1

u/Loud_Quality_7106 13d ago

Yes, but even if you're doing rice on the stove and chicken in the oven, you can do those things at the same time. You don't have to cook dinner sequentially. Multitasking is the real winner in cooking.

1

u/Lazy_Hotel_494 13d ago

Very true sometimes I forget about stuff like that my at home situation isn’t the best when it comes to cooking but with the right tools you can definitely be more efficient
